It's wedding season at the moment... what do you think when your other half tells you that you need to sort out a wedding gifts
for a wedding that you have been invited to. You don't really know the couple that well because they are your partner's friends. You are just the plus one.... BUT your boyfriend is rubbish at buying presents so he is reliant on you to buy the wedding gift.
Here are a few suggestions that might help you out:
1) Personalised Wine: This is a perfect gift for the happy couple when they have got over all the wedding fever, come back from honeymoon and want to chill out on the sofa and watch some tv together. They will probably want to crack open a bottle of wine and enjoy some quality time together. That bottle could be a bottle of personalised wine that you bought them. Sometimes relaxing with a bottle of wine is the best way to spend an evening. Drinking a special bottle that has been designed especially for you...
2) Engraved Photo Frames are another great gift idea. At every wedding there is a photographer and obviously he takes the wedding photos but there will be that one photo that the happy couple will absolutely love... that photo will be the one that they want to frame and have displayed on their mantlepiece. What better gift to give the newlyweds then a personalised photo frame that has been engraved with a message wishing them well on their marriage? I bought personalised photo frames for one of my friends when it was her wedding. When you go into her house there is a display stand type thing.. I don't really know what to call it but anyway - my frame houses her wedding photo. It's a pretty special feeling when I see that.
Whatever wedding gifts you get for the happy couple make sure that it conveys the sentiment that you want to wish the couple well on their wedding and their life together. As long as you do that then you are on to a winner. Personalised gifts are usually the best way to do that, you've taken the time to think about what to write and have the gift made rather than going into a shop and buying the first thing "wedding" related that you saw.
Whether it's a bride gift or a gift for the groom ensure that it is a thoughtful gift.Date posted: 24/08/2010
