Dom Perignon Champagne Gifts

Dom Perignon is associated with luxury. The champagne was first made by Dom Pierre Perignon, he was a benedictine monk. Although myth credits him with making sparkling wine, it was in fact the English who first made sparkling cider. In times gone by, when fermentation occured in the bottle, espcecially if the cellar was cold, not all the sugar was converted into alcohol. As the temperature increased the wine would ferment, create carbon dioxide and either the cork would blow or worse still the bottle would explode. It is believed the idea of the heavier bottles used to ferment the champagne came from England, Perignon made great contribute in the quality of champagne making. Today the brand Dom Perignon is famous worldwide, more importantly it is associated with luxury, success and pleasure.
The champagne tastes of honey with fresh almonds on the nose, dried apricots and toasted brioche combined with a long finish in the mouth.
